July 10th - Torche at Webster Hall

Week 2 of Birthday month continues to bring forth the great rock and roll. Bill, Adam, Jackie and I saw TORCHE at Wesbter Hall in NYC. What can I say? They were fucking great. I have a new favorite band.

They were a little old school British stoner rock ala Pentagram and Cathedral, some rootsy Seattle pre-grunge like Green River and Ultramega OK Soundgarden with some amazing Foo Fighters / QOTSA riffs and harmonies. Throw in a Neurosis like stage presence and they not only filled the entire room, they commanded it.

It was the first thing I put on in the office this morning.
