August 19th - Steak Club 7

The night started very promising at Tre Dici Steak, empty dining room, cool dragon lady decor (think the scene in “The Golden Child with Kala the half-snake lady) meets an old world Italian feel, overly accomodating staff, large comfy black leather chairs and a table in our own room.

August 14th - 10 Days of being an "asshole"

10 days into my doctor prescribed health kick (no greasy, fried or spicy foods, no alcohol, no stress, lots of sleep and exercise), I am happy to report my first hive free day! It only took being switched to a 3rd / stronger medication.

Admittedly, I did cheat a little by eating half of a Carl's Cheesesteak, but it was for a good cause and hey, no one is perfect.

Hopefully I can make it through a weekend that includes attending the Rockstar Mayhem Festival and a party at Vince Neilstein's.

Birthday month giveth, birthday month taketh away

I woke up covered in hives the last 2 days. Today was worse than yesterday. So I went to an allergist this morning.

Doc isn't sure exactly what caused the breakout. She's pretty sure its a combo of stress, hectic lifestyle, spicy foods that triggered a slight allergy to dust mites.

I told her about the big Smoker BBQ this past Sunday and the 17 stuffed pappadew peppers I ate. That combined with cajun chicken Monday and blackened chicken Tuesday, could've triggered it.

So was it the after effects of birthday month? The Elles / Zucatti stuffed pappadew peppers or the Dan / Tim / Salt Lick smoked meats combo?

We'll see what the blood tests say in 2 weeks. In the meantime, welcome to health half-month! No greasy or spicy foods and no alcohol!

August 5th - Happy Birthday Unkle J!

Dear Jimmy,

I was reminiscing all the fun times we've had over the years and as I was going through the photos, I began to wonder. "How old is Unkle J?" So I clicked through the photos for some clues. After looking through 10 years of pictures I think I figured it out!

HAPPY 17th BIRTHDAY BIRD BATH!!!!

As a present to you, I took one of your favorite photos "too fat too ride" and turned it into a little birthday treat! I know call this masterpiece "too fat for cake."

August 3rd - Smoker BQ with Tim, Jackie and Elles

Timmy Tats bought himself a smoker as a house warming gift to himself and Jackie. Once he figured out how to make it work, he, Jackie and the Elles' decided to have a Smoker / Grill off in their back yard. I don't think I have ever eaten so much meat in my whole life. Between Dan's churassco, Tim's baby back and short ribs and smoked bacon, The Syndicate's birthday gift of the Salt Lick to me and the Zucatti influenced Elles' stuff sausage pappadew peppers, there was hardly room for Jackie's mac'n cheese, tater tots and corn bread with sausage. Not to mention Cara's pasta salad, cookies, dirt cake and I don't know what else.

August 1st - Anti-Rev Kick off party

DJ BRAM hosted the "Heavy Metal Happy Hour/Anti-Rev Bday Month Kick off!" at the Arrow. With 2 for 1 drinks and an ample supply of heavy metal, there was much fun to have.

Then we headed over to the Beauty Bar for Holly Barron's birthday. Everyone got their knuckles tattoo. Everyone, even the blonde girl we didn't know.

My night ended at McDonald's by myself because everyone was so ANTI.
